(6/21/22)
We ended up being in Guadalajara on a very auspicious Tuesday: the anniversary of the Mexican wresting (lucha Libre) stadium. OF COURSE we had to check that out! ๐We went with a tour group that sits in the "poor" fan club section in the balcony (as opposed to those closer down near the ring in more expensive seats). There's a rowdy rivalry between the "rich" & the "poor" sections of fans, so in true Mexican style, there was a lot of trash talking between the upper & lower seats.
There were 6 different tag team fights scheduled, starting @ 9:30pm - we bailed after the 4th one... As they started to get repetitive & a bit boring for us. But we were surprised to see both an all female team & one for little people... So there's equal representation, which is good ๐
To top off the night, there had been a spectator running between the fan sections dressed as the character Nacho Libre & riling up the crowd. Turns out, that was our tour guide (who's was dressed in normal clothes @ the beginning of there night)! We had no idea since he was wearing a wresting mask as Nacho ๐
