Guadalajara Historica

(6/21/22)
Six hours of walking did a number on my hip but it was worth it. We spent the morning on a walking tour of the historic district of Guadalajara.
We toured the Guadalajara Cathedral (1561), the Teatro Degollado (1866) - with it's ceiling mural resurrecting Dante's Inferno, the Hospicio CabaƱas - famous for its Orozco murals, and the San Juan de Dios Market - supposedly the largest indoor market in Latin America.
Of note was the bullet hole lodged in the clock tower of the Palacio de Gobierno in 1915,  stopping time to mark the arrival of Pancho Villa into town, & the numerous public notices of the desaparecidos in Jalisco šŸ˜•
