Laguna de la Media Luna was a prehistoric lagoon fed by thermal springs - where we swam over sunken petrified trees and scuba divers heading down to the bottom of a crystal clear blue lake covered in lily pads. Needless to say, it was beautiful and Nick had a nice shoreside nap.
We tried to visit the falls of El Puente de Dios, but the waterfalls were closed to swimmers because the water levels were too high after recent heavy rains. We did go for a hike around the trails - or tried to, as Nick & I got separated & instead ended up spending the morning walking around, trying to find each other 😐 Sadly, El Trampolín was also closed due to high water levels but the small cascading pools with giant moss covered trees were gorgeous!

Not to worry though - the high water levels were actually a bonus at las Cascadas de Tamasopo. Three rushing falls create a huge central pool that spills out the sides into two separate areas of cascading pools and obstacle courses. We ended up closing the place down, it was such a great place!
